JAKARTA - On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in Jakarta, Toyota Astra Motor finally made the
Hilux Rangga's pricing public after many debuts around Indonesia. The price range for this pickup, which is less than the Hilux, is IDR 188 million to IDR 304 million.

The Hilux Rangga is only available in a single cabin version, this differentiates it from the
Hilux which has single cabin and double cabin options. The Hilux is currently on sale from
IDR 283.7 million to IDR 532.7 million.

Hiroyuki Ueda, President and Director of Toyota Astra Motor, said that the Kijang Innova, a renowned pickup truck that debuted in 1977 in Indonesia, served as the model for the Hilux Rangga.

“Today is very important for Toyota Indonesia because we are officially launching a new mobility solution specifically designed to meet wider commodity needs,” said Ueda at the launch, Tuesday (15/10/2024).

Numerous car shows in Indonesia have featured the Hilux Rangga on many occasions. Ordering units for the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) was made possible by Toyota Astra Motor in July.

This pickup is designed using the International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform which is already used in the Hilux and Fortuner. Kijang Innova before the Zenix generation also used this platform.

Toyota Motor's Regional Chief Engineer of Hilux Rangga, Jurachart Jongusuk, explained that the use of IMV allows the Hilux Rangga design to fulfill its target as a compact commercial car with versatile and adaptable capabilities.

He also explained that the Hilux Rangga has two engine options, namely Diesel 2GD 2,400
cc and Petrol 1TR 2,000 cc. Each engine has manual and automatic transmission options.
The diesel engine is said to be able to produce 150 hp of power and 343 Nm of torque for
automatic and up to 400 Nm for manual. Meanwhile, the petrol engine is capable of
producing 139 hp and 183 Nm of torque.

“So this can offer high performance by carrying heavy loads on various challenging road terrains,” said Jongusuk.

The size of the Hilux Rangga tub is 2.3 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. This tub can be
opened 1 way, aka only the back, or 3 ways with all sides open.

Jongusuk explained that other advantages of the Hilux Rangga are the carrying capacity of up to 1.2 tons, turning radius of 4.9 meters and fuel tank capacity of 55 liters. Especially for the
highest variant, High, it is equipped with an Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic
Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Immobilizer and two airbags.
