PEKANBARU - The candidate pair for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Pekanbaru, Agung

Nugroho and Markarius Anwar, or known as the AMAn, succeeded in outperforming their
competitors in the 2024 Pekanbaru Regional Head Election.

Based on the results of the vote recapitulation at the sub-district level, the AMAn candidate
pair excelled in 14 of the 15 sub-districts in Pekanbaru City, strengthening their position as
the leading candidates.

The AMAn candidate pair achieved significant wins in a number of strategic sub-districts,
including Sukajadi, Marpoyan Damai, Tenayan Raya, and Tuah Madani. Their only defeat
occurred in Senapelan District, where they narrowly lost to candidate pair Number 1.

In Marpoyan Damai, AMAn won 22,399 votes, far ahead of the Number 1 candidate pair
who received 8,602 votes.
Then, with 27,106 votes, Tuah Madani emerged the clear winner in this subdistrict. Along
with Tenayan Raya, AMAn won again with 16,757 votes.

These results show the high level of public trust in the programs offered by this candidate
pair.

New Hope for Pekanbaru
Rois S.Ag, a member of the Pekanbaru City Regional People's Representative Council,
congratulated the AMAn candidates on their win. He thinks that this combination will be able
to bring about major improvements, particularly in dealing with issues that have been
reported by the public, such as floods, trash management, and road infrastructure.

“Our hope for the elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor is that they will move quickly to address
pressing problems in society. The issues of flooding, rubbish and damaged roads must be a
top priority,” said Rois, a politician from PKS.
He also highlighted the enthusiasm shown by Agung Nugroho and Markarius Anwar in the
campaign.

“The enthusiasm and big movements carried out by both of them show a
commitment to solving community problems. We are optimistic that with the right focus,
their strategic program can run according to community expectations,” he added.
