PEKANBARU - Chairman of the Pekanbaru National Mandate Party (PAN) Regional Leadership Council (DPD), Ir Nofrizal, revealed that his party will most likely give a ticket to Pekanbaru Mayor candidate Muflihun.

In addition, he announced that PAN and Gerindra will establish an alliance in preparation for the Pekanbaru Mayoral Election (Pilwako).

"The latest information from the Central Leadership Council (DPP), PAN with Gerindra and Muflihun will later be made into Gerindra cadres," he said, Monday (19/8/2024).

Meanmwhile, the candidate for Deputy Mayor who will accompany Muflihun is currently still being contested by two PAN cadres namely deputy secretary general of the DPP PAN Irvan Herman and member of the Regional Peoples Representative Council (DPRD) of Riau Province Ade Hartati Rahmat.

To clarify, Nofrizal said that the PAN Central Leadership Council (DPP) has not yet determined to whom the ticket for Pekanbaru's deputy mayor would be awarded.

"Ade and Irvan are the two names we have narrowed down now. Whichever of the two names is selected will get the PAN ticket," he said.

However, Nofrizal went on, politics is still guite lively today. Despite meetings between Irvan Herman and Muflihun and Zulkifli Hasan, the Chairman of the PAN Regional Leadership Council (DPD), the Decree (SK) of formal support has not yet been released.

For your information, Gerindra has seven seats in the Pekanbaru parliament, whereas PAN has a total of six seats In the event that these two parties unite they will have secured the necessary backing for ten seats in the Pekanbaru Mayoral Election.
