PEKANBARU – The Corruption Eradication Commission team conducted another search in the Pekanbaru City area, this time not at the City Government but within the Riau Provincial Government.

The anti-corruption team searched the Riau Province Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement, and Land Areas (PUPRPKPP) Office on Monday (20/1/2024). It is not yet clear what the case is about.

According to Hallo Riau, when the Corruption Eradication Commission delegation arrived at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru, they immediately visited the Annur Riau Grand Mosque.

It is estimated that this arrival is related to the case of six electronic umbrella units at the Annur Riau Grand Mosque which emerged in 2024.

According to other reports, the Corruption Eradication Commission team arrived to investigate the Simpang Empat SKA Pekanbaru Flyover incident. The Corruption Eradication Commission has already summoned authorities about the flyover.

M Arief Setiawan, the Head of the Riau PUPR-PKPP Service, confirmed via WhatsApp that he
had no information. Even the mobile phone number he normally uses is out of business.
For the information, eight cars carrying the Corruption Eradication Commission Team arrived at the Riau Public Works Department for Spatial Planning, Housing and Land Areas (PUPR-PKPP) at around 10.00 WIB.

The team immediately moved to the 8th floor to start the search, then combed the 3rd, 4th and 6th floors.

Tight security was seen at the location, with two fully armed police personnel standing guard on the ground floor of the building.

Until this news was published, there had been no official statement from the Corruption Eradication Commission regarding the exact purpose of the search, the evidence being secured, or the case being investigated.
