JAKARTA - Brilliant results were generated during the 2024 Barcelona MotoGP which took place at the Catalunya Circuit on Sunday (17/11/2024) evening WIB.
Francesco Bagnaia, Ducati team racer, managed to win this race. However, the main spotlight is on Jorge Martin, Pramac Ducati rider, who secured the 2024 MotoGP world title.
Bagnaia started the race from pole position, while Martin started from fourth position. On paper, Bagnaia's opportunity to win the title is still open if he is able to lead Martin by at least 19 points.
According to detik.com, since the start of the race, Bagnaia appeared dominant. A perfect start led him to maintain first position.
Jorge Martin also performed well by sticking closely to second position, until Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) took that position on the second lap. Martin used a wise tactic to secure the world championship. He stayed constant in third place throughout the race, taking no unnecessary risks.
Until the end of 24 laps, Bagnaia was untouchable in first position, followed by Marquez in second place, and Martin on the third podium.
The top five positions are also filled with Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) in fourth place, and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) in fifth place.
With this result, Jorge Martin officially became the 2024 MotoGP world champion, collecting a total of 508 points at the end of the season.
Francesco Bagnaia had to settle for being in second place in the standings with 498 points. Marc Marquez also recorded an important achievement, closing the season in third place with 392 points.
The 2024 MotoGP season ended with a sweet story for Jorge Martin, who succeeded in bringing the Pramac Ducati satellite team into history as world champion.
Meanwhile, Ducati continues to dominate as a constructor, proving its superiority in the premier class.(*)
