PEKANBARU - Riau Provincial Plantation Agency (Disbun) has released the price of independent partnership fresh fruit bunches (FFB) of palm oil for the period of August 20 – 26, 2025.

Head of Processing and Marketing at Riau Provincial Plantation Agency, Dr. Defris Hatmaja, stated that the highest price increase was seen in the 9-year-old palm group, rising by Rp103.93/kg or 2.92% compared to last week.

“As a result, the purchase price of farmers’ FFB increased to Rp3,667.82/kg, with the shell price set at Rp23.13/kg,” he explained.

For this period, the K index used is the one-month-ahead K index, which stands at 93.12%. This week, the selling price of CPO rose by Rp88.86/kg compared to last week, while the selling price of kernel increased by Rp727.56/kg.

Some palm oil mills (PKS) did not make sales. Based on the Ministry of Agriculture Regulation No. 01 of 2018 Article 8, the CPO and kernel prices used are the average team prices. 

If CPO or kernel prices face two validations, the KPBN (Commodity Exchange) average price is applied.

The KPBN average CPO price for this period is Rp14,771.00/kg, and the kernel price is Rp13,525.00/kg. This week’s price increase is mainly due to the rise in CPO and kernel prices.

The improvement in the price-setting system reflects a strong commitment from all stakeholders, supported by the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office.

“This joint commitment will ultimately increase farmers’ income, which in turn will improve community welfare,” he said.
