PEKANBARU - Good news for palm oil farmers in Riau. The price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) from independent partnership plantations in Riau Province has risen significantly for the period of August 13–19, 2025.

According to the Riau Provincial Plantation Agency (Disbun), the highest FFB price reached Rp3,563 per kilogram.

Defris Hatmaja, Head of Processing and Marketing at Disbun Riau, said the highest increase was seen in 9-year-old palm trees.

“For the next week, the purchase price for farmers’ FFB will rise to Rp3,563.89 per kg, with shell prices at Rp24.04 per kg,” said Dr. Defris Hatmaja.

The price increase is driven by higher selling prices of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and palm kernels. CPO prices rose by Rp44.84/kg, while kernel prices jumped by Rp437.70/kg compared to the previous week.

"This week’s increase is mainly due to the rise in CPO and kernel prices,” he added.

He also explained that improved FFB price governance is the result of strong collaboration between stakeholders, including the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office.

"This joint commitment will ultimately increase farmers’ incomes and improve community welfare,” he said.

For this period, Disbun Riau set the average KPBN CPO price at Rp14,598.50/kg and the KPBN Kernel price at Rp13,150.00/kg.
