PEKANBARU - The Plantation Agency (Disbun) of Riau Province has officially released the latest price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) for independent palm oil farmer partnerships for the period of July 16–22, 2025.

The Head of Processing and Marketing at Riau Disbun, Defris Hatmaja, stated that the highest price increase occurred for 9-year-old trees, which rose by Rp68.89 per kilogram (Kg), or 2.09% compared to the previous week.

“As a result, the purchase price for farmers’ FFB has increased to Rp3,358.99/Kg, with the shell price set at Rp25.06/Kg,” said Dr. Defris Hatmaja on Tuesday (July 15, 2025).

For this period, the K index used is for the following month, which stands at 92.09%.

The selling price of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) this week increased by Rp393.85 per Kg from last week, while the selling price of kernel decreased by Rp191.77 per Kg.

Some palm oil mills (PKS) did not make any sales. According to Article 8 of the Ministry of Agriculture Regulation (Permentan) Number 01 of 2018, the CPO and kernel prices used are the average team prices. If either the CPO or kernel price undergoes a level-2 validation, the average price from KPBN is used instead.

“The average KPBN price for CPO this period is Rp14,037.50/Kg, and the average KPBN price for kernel is Rp10,475.00/Kg,” he added.

This week’s price increase is mainly due to the rise in CPO prices. According to Defris, improvements in the price-setting system are a serious effort by all stakeholders, with support from the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office.

"This shared commitment will ultimately lead to higher incomes for farmers, which in turn contributes to the overall welfare of the community,” he concluded.
