PEKANBARU – The price of fresh oil palm fruit bunches in Riau Province was ranked third nationwide through January 27 to February 2, 2025.
According to the Indonesian Palm Oil Farmers Association's pricing list, plasma partner fresh fruit bunches in Riau are priced at IDR 3,446/kg.
This price is lower than Bengkulu Province, which is leading at IDR 3,769/kg, and South Kalimantan, which is second at IDR 3,550/kg.
Aside from that, Riau is the only province that has price for fresh fruit bunches from independent partners, which is IDR 3,320/Kg, showing the competitiveness of Riau's palm oil sector compared to other regions.
Riau's outstanding performance may be noticed in contrast to other major palm oil producing regions.
South Sumatra, known as one of the main palm oil centers, is only in fourth place, with a price of IDR 3,405 per kg.
Central Kalimantan, which has a vast amount of oil palm plantations, ranked fifth at a price of IDR 3,362/kg.
Following that, according to the Indonesian Palm Oil growers Association, the cost of producing fresh fruit bunches is now between IDR 2,000 to IDR 2,100/Kg, indicating that growers are still making a fair profit.
With good pricing trends, it is anticipated that the regional government and palm oil industry participants in Riau would continue to promote farmer-friendly measures, such as maintaining a steady price for fresh fruit bunches and expanding supporting infrastructure for the palm oil business.
