The Regional People's Representative Council Has Responded To Allegations That The Mayor of Pekanbaru Lacks Objectivity
PEKANBARU - Member of the Pekanbaru City Regional People's Representative Council, Hj Niar Erawati SIP asked the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru, Risnandar Mahiwa, to immediately fill a number of vacant strategic positions within the Pekanbaru City Government, such as department heads, agency heads, village heads, and school principals.
Niar claims that the open post may significantly affect the efficient operation of public services, particularly in light of the concurrent regional head elections scheduled for November 27, 2024.
In addition, Niar underlined that Risnandar shouldn't be scared to confront the many unfavorable charges that are being made.
Following allegations that Risnandar was deemed non-neutral and accused of endorsing one of the mayoral candidates, this rumor surfaced on the internet.
This accusation was allegedly triggered by concerns from one of the candidates competing in the upcoming Regional Head Election.
“I trust that any political intrigue regarding the appointment of these posts won't have an impact on the mayor of Pekanbaru. Position clarity is crucial to maintaining the smooth operation of the government's machinery. The allegation that the mayor is supporting one of the candidates seems to suggest that certain parties are beginning to lose their minds,” said Niar, Thursday (31/10/2024).
Niar clarified that in order to preserve the best possible public services, this crucial job has to be filled right now. He emphasized that each branch of government has a vital role, particularly in the run-up to the Regional Head voting, which calls for complete preparation to ensure a safe and orderly voting process.
As a heroine from the Democratic Party, Niar added that filling this position is not just an administrative procedure, but is directly related to the interests of society.
“We fully support the Mayor's steps to immediately complete the process of filling this position. This is not just a matter of administration, but more about ensuring services to the community are not disrupted,” he added.
Apart from that, Niar emphasized the importance of transparency in the process of filling positions. He hopes that, with a process that is transparent and free from political interference, public trust in the government will be maintained.
“We hope that this process is carried out professionally and quickly, so that public services can return to normal and the public can feel the benefits directly,” concluded Niar.
The public is now concerned about the problem of open seats, particularly in light of the upcoming Regional Head Election in a few days.
