PEKANBARU – Abdul Wahid, Riau Governor, together with Riau Deputy Governor, SF Hariyanto, visited the Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital (RSUD) on Wednesday
(5/3/2025).

The purpose of this visit is to check out the facilities, services, and administration of Riau Province's proud hospital.

“Today we went to the Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital. This visit demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that public services operate properly. In general, the service is decent, although there are a few areas that may be improved,” stated Riau Governor Abdul Wahid.

Abdul Wahid said that one of the improvements needed is financial management and hospital business processes.

“We want Arifin Achmad Hospital to continue to serve the community without reducing services. Aside from that, I request that radiology services, particularly Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), not take too long since this could impact patient safety,” he said.

The governor also emphasized the need of hospital personnel maintaining a polite and professional approach.

“I want people who seek treatment here to feel comfortable. There are still employees who are not friendly, this needs to be improved. Service with a smile and a good attitude is very important,” he added.

Apart from that, Achmad Wan Fajratul Mamnunah, the Director of Arifin Hospital, said that they would immediately make improvements.

“We will improve services. Apart from that, we will improve MRI services to make them faster and more efficient,” he explained.

Wan Fajratul also admitted that the hospital's financial burden mostly came from providing services to patients who needed help.

“We will carry out more intensive discussions and education with patients regarding service costs. For employees who are unfriendly, we will give strict sanctions,” he concluded.
